Valentino, the renowned Italian fashion house, has secured the prestigious Gender Equality Certification, making it one of the pioneering luxury companies to attain this recognition. The certification is an integral component of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), designed to champion responsible workplaces and encourage companies to adopt policies aimed at narrowing the gender gap while fostering the professional development of women.
Bureau Veritas, a global leader in laboratory testing, inspection, and certification services, conducted a thorough audit of all Italian legal entities within Valentino to assess its eligibility for the certification. The evaluation encompasses various qualitative and quantitative indicators grouped into six overarching categories. These categories offer a comprehensive, 360-degree perspective on critical gender equality aspects, including culture and strategy, governance, HR processes, opportunities for women’s growth and inclusion within the company, gender-based pay equity, parental support, and work-life balance.
Valentino received commendation, particularly in the domain of gender pay equity. The fashion house has implemented guidelines that have effectively reduced its gender pay gap to less than 10 percent. Moreover, Valentino has outlined plans to further diminish this gap in the coming three years, solidifying its commitment to advancing gender equality within the organization.
