French designer Clara Daguin has emerged as the fortunate winner of a project competition initiated by the École des Arts Décoratifs (Paris’ school of decorative arts) in collaboration with the Saint-Eustache church in Paris.
In 2023, the École des Arts Décoratifs and Église Saint-Eustache invited young emerging creatives and designers to conceive a contemporary work of art centered around the theme of the nativity.
Clara Daguin, an alumna of the clothing design program at the Parisian institution École des Arts Décoratifs and the founder of her eponymous label since 2016, clinched victory in this call for projects.
In September 2023, she earned the City of Paris’ Grand Prix de la Création, recognizing outstanding talent in fashion, design, and crafts within the city.
According to the École des Arts Décoratifs’ statement on Linkedin, the fashion designer secured the award for her “monumental and interactive creation [which] seeks to combine one of the oldest materials, fabric, with technological possibilities.”
Daguin’s installation will be showcased at Église Saint-Eustache until January 30, 2024.
