Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes has pulled out of his scheduled matchup against Carlos Ulberg. The anticipated bout, initially set for March 30 at a UFC Fight Night event in Atlantic City, N.J., will no longer feature Reyes (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) due to undisclosed reasons. Consequently, Ulberg (9-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) will now step into the octagon against Alonzo Menifield, as confirmed by the promotion on Tuesday.
Reyes, aged 34, aimed for a triumphant return after facing four consecutive defeats. His challenging streak commenced with a title match loss to then-champion Jon Jones.
Ulberg, aged 33, is currently on an impressive five-fight winning streak, positioning him close to top 15 status. Throughout this streak, he has secured victories over Tafon Nchukwi, Nicolae Negumereanu, Ihor Potieria, and Da Un Jung.
Menifield (15-3-1 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) has remained undefeated in his last five appearances. His recent successes include two first-round TKOs against Askar Mozharov and Misha Cirkunov, along with a second-round submission of Jimmy Crute.
Following the alteration, the updated lineup for March 31 comprises:
- Sean Brady vs. Vicente Luque
- Erin Blanchfield vs. Manon Fiorot
- Alonzo Menifield vs. Carlos Ulberg
- Dennis Buzukja vs. Connor Matthews
- Loopy Godinez vs. Virna Jandiroba
