Amad Diallo seems to be making a series of actions hinting at cutting ties with Manchester United.
Diallo’s Instagram account is devoid of any posts related to Manchester United. On his Twitter account, the Ivorian international updated his bio with the phrase: “Everything will end.”
Diallo’s actions have piqued the curiosity of MU fans, especially in the context of the 2002-born player consistently finding himself on the bench recently.
After shining for Sunderland last season, and being awarded the Young Player of the Year by the “Black Cats”, Amad returned to Old Trafford with hopes of securing a place in the starting lineup. However, the former Atalanta player unexpectedly suffered a knee injury and missed most of the 2023/24 season.
Upon recovering from the injury, Amad did not gain the trust of coach Erik ten Hag. After 28 rounds, he was only given a meager 46 minutes of playing time. Currently, the €21.3 million signing is only the third choice for the right-wing position, behind Alejandro Garnacho and Antony.
Amad was recruited by MU under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with high expectations. However, the former Atalanta star’s impact so far has been limited to a header against Milan in the 2020/21 Europa League. Since then, Amad has been consistently loaned out to Rangers and Sunderland.
During the transfer window earlier this year, some Championship clubs expressed interest in loaning Amad. However, the 22-year-old player refused, hoping for playing time at MU. Given the current situation, Amad is likely considering leaving Old Trafford after the 2023/24 season. According to Transfermarkt, Amad is valued at around €18 million.
