Linda Hamilton, who joins the cast of “Stranger Things” for its final season, won’t be tuning in to watch despite her appreciation for the show’s 80s vibe and “Dungeons and Dragons” inspiration.
In an interview with Us Weekly!, Hamilton admitted that while she has enjoyed every season of the series, her involvement in the final season has changed her perspective. “When you buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So, I think it ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project] once I’m in something,” Hamilton explained. “It would completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So, I won’t be watching [Season 5].”
Hamilton, one of the new additions to the cast, has been tight-lipped about her role, with showrunners Ross and Matt Duffer only providing her with the “shape of the character but not of the story.” Despite being in the dark about the finale’s plot, Hamilton expressed her enjoyment of working on the show, which commenced production on Jan. 8.
While the show’s production continues, there’s no official release date for Season 5 on Netflix. Given the impact of Hollywood strikes on film and television productions, it’s unlikely that the season will premiere before 2025.
